South Newton Schools
Challenge
The South Newton School Corporation desired to upgrade their heating system for their elementary school building. The boiler room was examined by CSUSA Indiana in 2017 and a budget was prepared. The work was executed and completed during the summer months of 2019.
Solution
The CSUSA Indiana Team:
• Removed existing boilers, 38” diameter flue stack and wall combustion louver.
• Installed six 92% efficient boilers, re-piped the boilers and added a Mag filter in order to remove iron from the water to help ensure the heat exchangers were resistant to being plugged with hard water deposits. The rural school is on large well system.
• CSUSA Indiana also added ‘new’ boilers back onto their existing BMS (Building Management System).
• CSUSA Indiana direct vented each boiler in dual wall S.S. flue pipe up thru roof.
• Completed the project with zero safety incidents, on time and under budget.
A Closer Look
CSUSA Indiana provided pre-construction budgeting and engineering assistance for the project architect.
