Chin Baptist Church, Indianapolis, IN
Challenge
The 42,000 sq foot addition consisted of a gymnasium, classrooms, kitchen, storage, AV room and receiving room. The multi-use gymnasium area had multiple screens, lighting and hanging pendant lights throughout. The challenge for CSUSA Indiana was to install the mechanical systems and ductwork as unobtrusively as possible for the addition. Chin Evangelical Baptist Church was able to begin daily use of the Family Life Center in March 2019.
Solution
The CSUSA Indiana Team:
· Installed 40,000 pounds of sheet metal ductwork, including up to 40” double wall spiral duct in the gymnasium.
· Installed VAV and constant volume package roof top units, VAVs with electric reheat and complete DDC building management system.
· Delivered the project ahead of schedule and under budget.
· Completed the project on time with zero safety incidents
A Closer Look
CSUSA Indiana won this work through a bid process that allowed for the consideration of some value engineering options that allowed the mechanical portion of the project to come in within the originally scoped budget. CSUSA Indiana was able to work with and through significant mid-project scope changes without any negative impact to the project budget or schedule.
The project included variable air volume (VAV) mechanical systems, and web accessible direct digital control system.
